WAKE THE GIANTS
By Ahmad Hassan

A long time ago
In a land far away
We were once children, without a care.

Long before we played with Malcolm, Martin, Mahatma, and Nelson
We all shared an affinity for love.

When we were lost between the confines of our formidable imaginations
There was no room for race, color, or creed
And the deeds of youthful heart’s discontent,
Were bound only by the depths of a transparent vulnerability.

Never a feat too big,
Nor a task too small

The arrogance of youth befitted us all.

Yet, over time fear learned to creep in
Abruptly, corrupting – time and again

Perpetrator of purpose
Infiltrator of soul

Oppressor of the mind
Tyrant in control

Paralyzing the very core of our existence
Pulling us further from who we are.

Conformity is the name of the game
Should you choose to play by her rules

Yet, should you ever find fear affecting your heart,
Remember back to that child you used to know
Bold, aweless, and curious about the world.

It is time to wake up!
For we are giants!
And fortitude shall sleep no more.

Liberation is inevitable.
Freedom of the mind is NOW!

By Marisabel Lavastida

When we are born we have no alliances. We are born valuing love, curiosity, and beauty. Because of that we seek comfort in our caregivers, we experience the world in constant awe and are mesmerized by the interests that inspire us to dream without limits. We currently live in a culture where “growth” and “adulthood” compromise these innate human qualities. Liberation is needed. We face enslavement so gruesome it falls short of shackles and cages. Its subtle nature makes it hard to see truth and change accordingly. The liberation of the mind needs to happen now. We have the capacity to change the world and end unnecessary suffering but we chose not to. Why? This is because we are held captive to ideologies, distractions, idols, fear and misinformation. As a human community we need to fight the things that imprison us so that freedom of thought and reason can prevail against a culture that is spreading globally. This current tainted global culture of the “civilized” man goes undetected because within its dogma lies the most powerful weapon of war and destruction: apathy.
There is a need for a revolutionary coming together of human beings who think and are not limited by outdated political and religious ideologies—people who seek to build on old ideas but can move toward progressive ones fitted to our current needs. Humanity has to rid itself of the arrogance in thinking that only one ideology is right. I call for shedding of fear of the unknown and the embrace of adventure. I trust in our abilities in solving our global problems. Ideologies need to inspire us but we need to move forward and leave behind our attachment to them.
The media has abandoned the people, but this generation holds the power of being globally connected more than any in our history. The revolution for the freedom of the mind calls for a new worldview, one not stifled by petty distractions aimed at numbing our ability to think critically. We are told to value frivolous things that do not feed our hunger for a fulfilled life. The distractions from the journey to uncover truth often leave us empty and separated from our individual potential.
Liberation of the mind is vital in keeping us from continually praising and making heroes of people who are more like caricatures of real human beings. Success has been defined through people who are sold by a superficial culture—which is run on the ignorance of the many for the gain of the few. Let’s reward the people who have the courage to live their lives how they see fit instead of condemning them for being different.
I do not intend to just list ailments that need mending. Within the call to liberate our minds there are solutions based on the arts, love and most importantly reason. The arts push us to create and be imaginative, to go beyond “what is” and explore “what could be”. Free and creative expression cannot be lost but instead empowered by a new movement. The need for love in our lives is undeniable. When true liberation occurs there is the powerful ability to love unconditionally. Love makes us live fully by embracing differences while seeing love as a weakness isolates us and creates hatred based on lies. Things can change for humanity because we are essentially good, we do not need to learn more to gain wisdom but instead we need to unlearn all the garbage we have collected throughout our life thus returning to our original, light-hearted innocence.
It is easy to be cynical when we look at our social problems but I believe we are capable and well equipped to solve them. We are not alone. My whole life I have struggled to cope with a seemly damned world, only to find solace in like-minded people. This is why I support a revolution in the hearts and minds of my fellow humans. This is why I not only support but feel inspired by the JOM Revolution.

Way Finding for the Freedom of The Mind by Lauren Alford

“Tear down the walls of society, live outside the bounds of tradition,” this is my credo.

I am assessing this thing that we are all a part of, the society we all feel compelled to support and flow along with; day after day, year after year. How have certain practices come into play? Why would we create the monster we call ‘the economy’ and then live in fear of it? Is the stress and monotony worth the luxuries we seek? At what point do we lose our natural connection to the earth and become destructive of the resources we require to survive? I lay out these questions in order to initiate thought.

We live in a world riddled with problems and humans scrambling to find solutions. As I dig through research of dedicated persons from documentaries, to books and in-depth conversation, I discover few problems facing man kind that are beyond our control. We’ve inadvertently created problems over time, lost awareness and in turn lost simple concepts linking us straight to our answers.

Answers, solutions, striking bits of reality are curtained. Some pass through the curtain. Some peer past the curtain in their minds’ eye but fear stepping beyond. Finally, some have closed their minds entirely, slapped on a label reading “taboo” and ignore. We tend to live in fear of reality and seek solace in problems and false solutions. Many are bereft of reality and they are operating in a collective unconsciousness under a false ego, accepting and following an enigmatic, flawed and archaic pattern.

This example should outline the flaws in our methods of identifying errors and accepting solutions. Cancer and disease. Humans think that these two things are the problem, so innumerable organizations have formed to develop treatments. I used to think that cancer and disease was a part of life. Fortunately, I have grown aware of my environment and my body. Disease is a manifestation of two factors: a deficiency of good and an abundance of bad. Simple. Honest-to-goodness treatments that work are regarded as taboo and referred to as ‘alternatives’. The word ‘alternative’, in this scenario, is that taboo curtain concealing a bounty of health and in front of it sits widely accepted, government approved, costly, toxic treatments. I could go to great lengths explaining the ‘disease industry’; but for the purpose of illustrating this primary analogy, I will end here.

Question the answers. Run from complacency. Seek truth. Revere simplicity.
Options are almost always available, learn to recognize inefficiencies, then avoid. Be a way finder; when the available options are lousy or if a viable option is out of reach use intuition and knowledge as power and create exactly what you need. Have faith in the resiliency of your mind-body-spirit as well as in your fellow man and the earth we live on. Fear is rooted in the collective unconscious, wake up and be free.

The changing world around us is challenging. Everything seems to be moving so fast, while we are not advancing at the same rate. Why is that? Let’s look at the facts most of us can relate to. Hit snooze, not enough time for breakfast, have to get the kids up…dressed, traffic, “I can do this with my eyes closed”! Thirty minutes to eat? (It takes ten minutes to heat up my leftovers that took twenty minutes away from my favorite series last night. Good thing I DVR’d it so I can watch it tonight while I clean the dishes from last night.) Stress levels are up, more traffic. Stress levels through the roof, only to get home to enjoy a few hours with the family before bed. Diner? Leftovers? Microwave? Eat-in/Take-out? “Dancing with the Stars” at “Twilight” while tending to your crops on “Farmville”? Put the kids to bed. Not much time to spend with your spouse. What do you do? You bitch about your day, how that guy cut you off, how you hate your job and everyone you work with, how you wish you had more time in a day to get all your chores done, oh wait that’s what Saturday and Sunday is for! Do you see a pattern here? I call it a dead-end road. We can all multitask to various mind numbing experiences. Just imagine what we can do with our minds if we put them to good use. Wouldn’t it be nice to dance under the stars at twilight in celebration of a successful harvest? The challenging world takes a toll on our daily lives. A constant battle to make it through to the next day. Why is it so important you have to sacrifice everything you desire just to wake up and repeat it all over again? Turn your reality into life. As if you were having a nightmare, what do you do? You wake up! There is more to life than this.

I’m not saying to quit your day job, just yet, but focus more on your activities in your free time. Do you read? Do you express your artistic ability? Do you spend time with your children? Play video games? Read the tabloids? Watch television? As humans we are far more capable of amazing accomplishments than previously believed. We waste our beautiful minds away with various mind numbing experiences. Why? To escape the reality of our lives. We escape our reality when watching television like an alcoholic escapes in a bottle of vodka. We live vicariously through the lives of actors, musicians, politicians. We drug ourselves to a hypnotic state. When our minds become engulfed in a make-believe reality, the world seems to just pass us by outside our windows. There is a whole other world outside of the glowing box in the living room, beyond the tabloids on the discount rack, and away from the circus in Washington. Break away from all the distractions and more ideas will come flowing into our lives. More happiness. We will have more time to concentrate on the importance of life and all that it offers. Freeing our minds will free ourselves to more possibilities.

Our constitutional freedoms can be striped left and right, pun intended! But our freedom to think for ourselves can never be taken away. We can become distracted off the path, but there is always a clearing in the woods. A place where the sun shines on a grassy field of peace. We can either hide in the woods or play in the field. It’s a choice everyone has and everyone makes on a daily basis. A choice of surviving vs. living. In ancient times Pliny the Elder said, “Home is where the heart is”. Since material gain was not part of the daily lives in ancient times, home is merely a metaphor for oneself. Not a big house with a two car garage and a white picket fence. Freedom of the mind starts with you. Have you ever tried to change the world around you? Trying to make everyone else happy usually ends in failure. You are unable to change others’ minds about how you think the world should be. Have you given your own thoughts a chance? Try practicing what you preach. Want to change the world? Start with yourself. Home is where you start. Don’t let life control you, you control life.

It’s important to understand the difference on living vs. surviving. Surviving is getting to work on time so you can make your mortgage payment next month. The vicious cycle need I mention again. Living is becoming that person you see inside, but is hiding in the woods. Get out into the field and express yourself. A healthier life than sitting in front of the glowing box, an endless world of make believe.

So why is freedom of the mind important? I don’t want my child to grow up in a make believe world. Filled with lies, hardship, repeated cycles. I want him to be able to express himself. Use his knowledge that we as parents, teachers, friends, mentors know but are not sharing because we are scared of the unknown. The future. If we keep thinking that the future is bleak, then it shall be. But if we think that we can change the present, the future will be glorious. Keeping our thoughts positive and sharing them with everyone we encounter. Cleansing our minds from negative distractions. Giving our children hope instead of them not wanting to grow up, because they see how we live and what hardships we face as adults. I don’t want that for my child or for any human being on this planet. We all know there IS more to life than this. We just have to live it, love it, and share it. In the best way possible. Start at home.

Why Join the JOM Revolution?
Patricia Porcano

Over the past year or so, I have found myself discovering many hidden truths.
I have realized that many of the things people believe and accept as truth are simply lies told to us by those in positions of authority within the government. When I first came to this realization, I was devastated. How could I have been tricked for so long? What was even more frustrating than being lied to was that most of the people I tried to talk to about this issue were in complete denial. Despite this, I told myself that I would make it my own mission to spread the truth to the people I come in contact with. Even if I could get just a few people to start thinking on their own, it would make a difference in the lives of everyone else who comes in contact with them. This chain reaction is what I hope to accomplish.
The universe works in mysterious ways. One day I began speaking with Anais,
one of the founders of the Jesus of Malibu revolution. We shared many of the same ideas and
thoughts about the state of the world we live in today. She opened my eyes to new possibilities and ultimately a new hope for humanity. Their film will serve to change the world in a time we so desperately need it. Most people are so caught up with what does not matter that they are blind to the truth in front of them. By this, I mean they are distracted by mainstream media that has basically brainwashed the masses into becoming robots of society. Capitalism is everywhere in this country. There is a McDonald’s within 20 miles of almost every home, we are limited to the movies we can watch, and poisonous television dictates the lives of many. I struggle to find anything meaningful worth watching. I do not even trust the news to give me accurate information because it is all run by lies. Pharmaceutical companies give prescriptions left and right- not because people are sick, but because they make billions of dollars profit from it. The list goes on an on about the corruption within our country- let alone in the world.
It is time for us to find our voices and speak up against the powerful forces that have
taken over our lives. This begins by gaining control of our own minds and bodies, and filtering out the poison that has been destructing our very being. It is true that one person can make a difference. Yet, thousands of people can make a revolution. At the end of the day, we all deserve to be healthy and happy. This begins by questioning everything and anything we have been told up until now. This is a time of awakening for millions. I choose to take a stand in my own community against the lies and corruption.

The revolution of the mind is an essential revelation within our own individual and collective evolutionary progress. Once we begin to wake up to forgotten truths and begin to remember who we really are, which is essentially love and light, then we can begin the healing process. We are suppressed to the point where we are not our true selfs due to fear. As a society we have lost sight of what is true in our life. We do not often seek that which is genuine, as we are easily manipulated and controlled by the mass media and other fear based propaganda. Our society is designed to keep us so busy that we don’t have the time to do too much thinking. We are too busy with work, school, family, never-ending errands, and mind numbing activities like television that we don’t take the time to truly seek within. Our world is full of control systems that are designed to institutionalize us and control the way our minds perceive the world. We are taught and conformed at a very young age not to dream, how often do children get in trouble in school for day dreaming? Our belief systems are easily handed down to us by our parents and other authority figures. We are not often taught to utilize our own creative imagination, instead we are tailoring children to fit in to a specific mold, conforming each child into external definitions designed around expectations. We are not taught to question what we are told, especially what we are told by authority figures. Until we can learn to question the answers and make our own conclusions, we will never really be true to ourself.

Eventually we become so accustomed to these conforming ideologies that we aren’t even conscious of it.  That is why it is essential that we begin to wake up from this robotic mind comma and begin to seek truth in all forms. We must learn that love and compassion for all will always outweigh and benefit our life over fear and aggression. We must forgive ourself of all our past troubles. We must realize that the darkness has played a part in making us who we are today, and have it inspire us for a greater light and love for all. We must see our interconnectedness and oneness with all. We must heal and release old thought patterns and control systems. We must strive to thrive, and we can only thrive in love and light.  Once we begin to heal our own inner selfs, it will ripple outwardly in to all other beings, until eventually it is a collective healing. The revolution of the mind is a revolution of each and every one of us, as one.

poem~by Bridgette Larson
This isn’t about what I want
or what I need.
This is about
what they
and what we
NEED.
It’s about
how to make tomorrow happen
how to make sure
that the sun will rise
and set
It’s not about making art
It’s not about making money
It’s about
MAKING LOVE
notfornicationbutconsecrationofthevowswetookwhenwewerebornhumanonthisearththatisnowours
When we took ownership,
when our forefathers took complete ownership of everything that their eyes could see
they signed their names in blood
to be responsible of it all
and they have forgotten
their lame sons and daughters,
now dribbling electronic drool and puss and piss and shit out of their eyes and toes and oh yes, their fingertips
have forgotten what it means
to have and to own,
and oh
don’t we love
to own.
to cut down a mountain
they sign their names on the paper,
and disappear.
well this will not continue.
I will not dedicate my body
to this mess.
All of the blood,
All of the sweat,
and all of the tears.
It will be remembered.
The fight happens everyday
And everyday they make our children forget.
They feed us nonsense,
“go buy canned goods and water bottles.”
but they can’t protect us from what we have done to ourselves.
This isn’t about art
This is about the war outside and inside
Go and expose your truths
and stand your ground.
The nights will be cold,
but your brothers and sisters will keep you warm.
We will feed our fires
and keep the light until morning.
When you see their fires in the distance
come and warm your hands.
We will fight together
and protect what is left.

We need a revolution for the Freedom of Mind because we need to fix ourselves before we fix others. A clear mind is a focused mind.

Around the world, there is violence, bigotry, corruption, and lies, and all of it can flood the mind with anxiety and fear. I believe the first step, is to focus on you. Literally, look in the mirror and then reflect on the positive abilities and achievements you’ve made so far. Remind yourself who you really are, what you are capable of, and smile. Be focused on the things you want to change.

To change the world around you, you must start with changing yourself. Look to your friends, or others who share similar interests. The right people will help you. This is how ideas generate movements, and movements become societal transitions.

As I’ve watched this year roll out, I still question why people are so manipulated to such harsh things. The corrupt police, the lying politicians, the backstabbing ‘mainstream media’, and the continuous wars in the middle east, are all pressuring the weary people. Police take power to demolish lemonade stands outside Washington DC, because organizers do not carry a business permit. Yes, under the ‘rule of law’, you need a permit. However, does that make it right? No one is getting hurt. A majority of the politicians running for President in the U.S., are accepting corporate and lobbyist money. A lot of them do not address the real concerns and problems of the American people. The ‘mainstream media’ has been excluding a very important politician by the name of Ron Paul, who is running for US president. The media’s job is to report on all politicians and news, instead of favoring one candidate over another. Ever since 9/11, the wars in the Middle East have continued to murder innocent civilians and destroy the United States reputation. It is utterly disgusting and it will stop with our action.

I see a strong amount of fear from the American people, because a lot of us pretend to be comfortable inside our own little bubble of life. There are a great number of citizens, who will accept any form of tyranny until the tanks start rolling down their street.  We must face the reality of tyranny, corruption and the need for a revolution.

As I stated before, it must not start on the streets, with guns, and knifes. It should start in the mind. As people began to realize whom they really are, and tell their friends who to fix the real problems, then we will make a better change.

Let’s turn off the television, clear our minds and focus on who we want to be- not who we are told to be. We are human. We are free. We are a collective group, who holds grand talents, abilities, experiences and stories.

I believe we are much more than what the ‘powers that be’ have forced us to believe. With the right educated mind, we can fix these problems.
